Bayyinah Michel-Quintanilla, PA-C

A certified Physician Assistant with 8 years of experience providing medical care to diverse patient populations. Bayyinah earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas-Pan American. She has volunteered with Dallas Equest, performing physicals for children beginning equestrian training. Passionate about serving minority populations, Bayyinah is proficient in Spanish and Haitian Creole, with a focus on delivering culturally competent care. She has extensive experience in chronic condition management, patient education, and building strong patient relationships. Bayyinah loves to travel and spend time with her family and her four fur babies.

Stephanie Powdar, MPAS, PA-C

A board-certified Physician Assistant with 2 years of experience in Family Medicine. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from UT Southwestern. Stephanie has worked in federally qualified health centers, providing care in chronic disease management, pediatrics, internal medicine, gastroenterology, and women’s health. She is trained in Nexplanon and IUD insertion and removal, with a passion for serving medically underserved populations.

Carla Marchesi, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

A dedicated Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in palliative care and women’s health. Carla earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). With over 10 years of experience, she has expertise in managing chronic and acute illnesses, performing comprehensive assessments, and providing compassionate care to patients and their families. Carla is particularly skilled in palliative care, disease prevention, and patient education, and has played a key role in building palliative care programs. She is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish, enabling her to effectively care for diverse populations.

Christine Varela, MSN-FNP

A dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience providing exceptional patient care, specializing in chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Christine earned her Master of Science in Nursing for Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) from South University-Austin and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from West Texas State University. She has extensive experience across various healthcare settings, including family practice, emergency services, and patient care leadership. Known for her strong commitment to quality care and improving patient outcomes. Bilingual in Spanish and English, she is deeply passionate about addressing the unique needs of underserved communities.

Lisa Jenny, ARNP

An experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with five years of experience in primary care and ten years of nursing experience in family medicine, addiction treatment, corrections, and surgery. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) – Family Nurse Practitioner from Simmons University. Lisa has provided patient-centered care in fast-paced environments, excelling in diverse settings and working with medically underserved populations.

Sandra González, MSN, RN, ACNP-BC

An Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience in both critical care and primary care settings. Sandra earned a Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and is licensed as both a Nurse Practitioner (CNP) and Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas. With a career spanning nearly 30 years in critical care nursing, Sandra has worked in intensive care units, as well as in private practice, providing care for patients with both chronic and acute illnesses. She has extensive experience in disease management and has worked in specialties including pulmonary, neurology, and internal medicine.

Pediatrics

Dr. Kimberly Sweet, M.D.

A board-certified pediatrician with over two decades of experience, Dr. Sweet graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Sweet has had the privilege of practicing pediatrics globally and is deeply passionate about serving children. She cares for a wide range of pediatric cases. Dr. Sweet is committed to providing excellent care and is dedicated to the well-being of her young patients. With a deep commitment to her patients and a strong belief in the importance of building trust with families, Dr. Sweet continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the children and families she serves.

Emily Durbin, APRN, FNP-C

A Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in acute and chronic care management, Emily earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner track, from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has worked in family medicine clinics, providing care across the lifespan, including well-child exams, urgent care visits, and sports physicals. Emily is skilled in managing both pediatric and adult patients, with a strong background in primary care, urgent care, and home health. Emily is committed to ongoing professional development and providing high-quality, compassionate care to her patients.

Taylor Fiorenza, MSN, APN, FNP-C

Taylor Fiorenza is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has extensive clinical experience, providing care for patients of all ages. Her expertise includes managing acute and chronic conditions, disease prevention, and wellness visits. Taylor excels in patient care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. With additional certifications in NIHSS Stroke, Suicide Prevention, and other areas, she is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare to diverse patient populations. Over the last 4 years, she has fine-tuned her skills and expertise to treating the pediatric population.

Brandee Miles, APRN, FNP-C

A Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in primary care. She earned her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Woman’s University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Brandee has worked across various healthcare settings, providing care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, with a focus on chronic care management, preventive care, and wellness exams. She has experience managing conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension. Brandee is committed to enhancing her patients' well-being by providing compassionate, tailored care that supports long-term health and encourages positive outcomes.

Women’s Health

Dr. Shannon Sims, M.D.

An experienced physician with over 15 years in family medicine and student health services, Dr. Shannon Sims earned her M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed her residency in Waco, Texas through the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation.  Currently serving as an independent contractor physician for the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), Dr. Sims has also provided care to diverse patient populations, including working in primary care settings where she focused on diagnosis, treatment, and preventative health management. Dr. Sims is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Frances Casanova, MSN, APRN, CNM

Frances Casanova is an experienced Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife with a strong focus on providing comprehensive care to women. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Nurse Midwifery, from the University of Cincinnati. With extensive experience in various healthcare settings, including private practice, community health clinics, and home health, Frances is skilled in women’s health, including  family planning and birth control, gynecology-including STI testing, PCOS, menopause, and cervical cancer screening.  She also provides prenatal and postpartum care, including  addressing postpartum depression. Her commitment to patient education and practice management ensures that women receive the highest quality of care tailored to their individual needs. Throughout her career, Frances has worked with diverse patient populations, including underserved and Medicaid populations, and is dedicated to empowering women through education, support, and compassionate care.

Dr. Crystal Almaraz, D.D.S.

Dr. Crystal Almaraz is a dedicated General Dentist with a passion for improving oral health in underserved populations. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Colorado and completed a General Practice Residency at Meharry Medical College. Throughout her career, Dr. Almaraz has gained extensive experience in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, crown and bridge procedures, root canal therapy, and removable dentures. She is committed to delivering treatment plans that emphasize disease prevention and oral health promotion. Her goal as a dentist is to enhance overall health outcomes by providing quality dental care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address the unique needs of every patient.

Dr. David Flores, D.D.S.

A skilled and dedicated General Dentist with 3 years of clinical experience in comprehensive care. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he developed expertise in restorative dentistry, prosthetics, and endodontics. David has worked in fast-paced dental practices, where he has demonstrated strong time management skills and the ability to meet high production goals while maintaining exceptional care quality. Fluent in both Spanish and English, David is passionate about serving diverse populations and expanding his dental knowledge to continuously improve patient care.

Sharon Souter, RDH

A dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist with 38 years of experience in general practice. Sharon earned her BS degree in Health Science from the University of Southern California while serving in the US Air Force as a Dental Assistant and later went on to earn her Dental Hygiene Degree at ECC, State University of New York. She has worked in various dental practice settings, providing comprehensive care focused on periodontal health, preventive treatments, and patient education. With a strong passion for improving oral health, Sharon is committed to building lasting relationships with patients and delivering personalized care in every aspect of her practice.

Behavioral Health

Ene Amali Awoniyi, DNP, PMHNP-BC

A board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in psychiatric care. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Awoniyi specializes in diagnosing and treating mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, providing care that combines medication management and psychotherapy. Dr. Awoniyi is passionate about supporting the mental health of her patients and is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to those in need.

Tamara McQueary, LCSW-S

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor with over 10 years of experience in mental health therapy. Tamara earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Abilene Christian University and Masters of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. Tamara is also a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner. She has provided individual, couple, and family therapy in both outpatient and inpatient settings, specializing in case management, intake assessments, and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents. Tamara has also supervised master's level students during their clinical internships and has held leadership roles in clinical settings. She is dedicated to supporting families and individuals through the therapeutic process, with a focus on trauma-informed care and relationship-based interventions.

Sharon Smothers, LCSW

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in mental health treatment and crisis management. Sharon earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. With a passion for helping clients cope with emotional, mental, social, and physical challenges, she has worked in various settings, including residential and outpatient treatment facilities.  Sharon utilizes evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. She has a strong background in addiction counseling, family therapy, and forensic investigations. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is dedicated to supporting individuals and families in making positive changes in their lives.

Erica Lackey, LPC

Erica is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in therapy, crisis intervention, and case management. She holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University, along with a Mental Health Counseling Certificate. Erica's diverse experience spans private practice and educational settings, where she has provided dedicated care to individuals ages 5 and up. Specializing in support for neurodiverse individuals, at-risk youth, and trauma survivors, she is dedicated to fostering resilience and personal growth. She tailors treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient, creating a path toward healing and empowerment. Passionate about promoting mental health awareness, Erica strives to ensure accessible resources and support for those in need. Her commitment to holistic care empowers individuals to overcome challenges, develop meaningful coping skills, and thrive in their everyday lives.

Deborah Crocetti, LMFT

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a strong commitment to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. Deborah holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and a BA in Sociology from Lee University. Her approach to therapy is grounded in solution-focused brief therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She specializes in Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Substance Abuse, and Couples Work. Deborah brings over a decade of experience directing large substance abuse and domestic violence programs, Deborah is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care to help individuals and families achieve lasting change and personal growth.
